The conclusion

Taking small steps seems to always work. After all, it is how we learn to walk, talk, love, and show emotions. I recommend this book to everyone. Every moment in life matters, because despite the many hardships that often come our way, there is always much to be grateful for.

Sorry your journey with this book was so lonely. But I'm glad you read it because it's a really special book. Kids are always just floored and enthralled by the story.

What did you think of her crush on the doctor and things like that? Such a neat glimpse at a NORMAL little girl in a rough situation.

It's quite alright! I enjoyed the book and this experience nevertheless. I actually did wonder what the children's response would be like.

As for her crush on the doctor, I think any girl would have had a crush on him as well! The way that he believed in her, and payed such special attention to her:) It was so touching. My absolute favorite part was when he purchased a bottle of red toe nail polish, because she said "what good was life without painted toenails?" And he painted her toe nails! Wow! Their relationship was really special. And he always told her that she was his favorite patient.

I'd probably have a crush as well!
